DAYTONA SPONSOR RENEWS

Sabre to market Forsberg systems
In an agreement just signed, Sabre Sport will assist Lancaster, UK based Forsberg Services in based marketing Positioning acquisition applications. Sabre originally linked up with Forsberg when the company sponsored Sabre's Neil Crilly in a Porsche 911 at this year's Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.

Forsberg's new system, HA-ART (an acronym for High Accuracy Angle and Real Time Tracking), presents a new, cutting edge solution to motor sport teams' data acquisition needs. Advantages of this new system include the provision of much more precise data coupled with data parameters not available with other systems. The secret to all this is a unique combination of navigation technology, which can show vehicle position on the track to within +/- 5cm. Pitch, roll and yaw sensors provide valuable 360 degree data about what the vehicle is doing on elevation change sections of a track and in the camber change segments of a given corner all to accuracy of better than 0.2 degrees. Because of this expanded and highly accurate data, a much more precise picture of how the vehicle is handling around a racing circuit can be identified. Therefore, changes made to improve handling and performance are much more likely to be based on correct data and be immediately effectual. Users can also utilise the equipment to survey tracks in 3D to a similar accuracy level.

Another feature of the system includes a built in "DataPuter" that enables real time control and datalogging. The HA-ART system can be used in situations where telemetry is permitted but, when not, a solid state RAM card saves all data for review. The entire system weighs about one kilogram (2.2 pounds) and is extremely compact, allowing great flexibility in its location In the racing vehicle. Data can be examined with purpose written software which allows the user to set "virtual" timing gates at any number of points around the course and achieve timing to better than 250 nanosecond (less than 1/4,000,000 second) accuracy on segment times. Velocities and G forces can be examined for multiple circuits and vehicles, enabling vehicles, drivers, and chassis/engine designs to be accurately evaluated anywhere at any time.

The navigation sensors in the system are also used in advanced fighter aircraft and are built to withstand the toughest environmental and dynamic conditions. For example, the systems have operating temperature range from 40"C to +85"C while vibration resistance and dynamics meet the toughest military and aircraft standards. The result is an advanced technology system which provides a new level of accuracy and useful data for motor sport teams and drivers, all in a compact, reliable, easy to fit, and dynamically accurate package.

Forsberg Graphics will appear on Sabre Cars. Sabre's involvement in the marketing program will consist of marketing the systems to motor sport teams and other potential users such as drivers schools (the systems make a highly useful instructional aid), and motor sport television producers/promoters. Forsberg/HA-ART graphics will also appear on Sabre racing project cars in events worldwide as Forsbero now becomes an Associate sponsor. NovAtel Porsche
finishes 3rd

The same car Sabre driver Neil Crilly drove at this year's 24 Hours at Daytona ran recently in the May 16-17 Professional Sportscar GT event at Homestead, Florida. Appearing in the same red and white livery with Savasort, Forsberg and NovAtel graphics, driver/car owner Bill Stitt and Dave Russell, Jr. (co-drivers of Crilly at Daytona) drove the car to 3rd place in the GT-2 class. Broadcast on ESPN and other international media, the appearance added to the media exposure received by Sabre's Daytona sponsors. Congratulations and thanks go to Bill Stitt and his team for their efforts. The overall win went to James Weaver and Butch Leitzinger in a Riley and Scott, and the GT-2 class was won by the BMW M-3 of Andy Pilgrim and Scott Neumann.
